Why do girls dislike guys who play even the LEAST bit of video games?

You can be a cool guy not even obsessed with video games. You just get on your PS3 and Xbox 360 now and then for recreation. This, however, does not seem to make a difference to the majority of girls out there. If you have even a drop of "video gamer" on you, she'll give you the boot (she's not interested). Why is this? I want to know the mystery behind this.Why do girls dislike guys who play even the LEAST bit of video games?
Hmmm. My guess is that you are going after the popular, cheerleader type of girl...or a wannabe popular cheerleader type. Girls like this, while they might look fabulous on your arm, tend to be very superficial and will avoid anything that has even a hint of "lowering their status". In other words, if you are a geek you're out. If you're a regular guy who plays the occasional video game, you are out unless your dad recently bought you a Benz. These things are especially true in high school when young people are figuring out social status for the first time.



My advice. Go for somebody more down to earth. There are plenty of smokin' hot girls who are down to earth and won't mind if you play video games occasionally. Hell, I married one! Just make sure you don't play video games to point where you are neglecting her. Big no no.
Well, I'm a girl, video games don't bother me, as long as the guy doesn't put the console in front of me. It makes girls feel bad sometimes, but I guess we make you boys come down to the shops with us and most of the time you are patient and get on with it, so I don't see it as an issue, it's justice. But some boys put their video games in front of their girlfriends, maybe they've had a history with boys and games before.

We don't dislike guys who play video games. We dislike guys who are OBSESSED with playing video games. We, as girls, often enjoy a bit of gaming too. Don't assume we're against you playing on your PS3'S or Xbox. We're not the bad guys ;)

I don't know, I think it might be the fact that stereotypical views of video gamers are not too positive. Also, people link guys obsessed with video gaming as having no life outside of "THE GAME" Ergo leading to poor hygiene.

They look at it as they are choosing to spend their time selfishly instead of with them. If you are hanging out with someone that isn't playing the game with you, then it is just rude in general. Girls want a guy that does more than just play video games, so no matter if you play them a little bit, it's a red flag in their eyes.Why do girls dislike guys who play even the LEAST bit of video games?
Well, honestly if a girl will dump you because of a harmless hobby, she's really not worth it. But personally I think video games are fun and guys that like them can be really cute. As long as you're not constantly playing them and aren't more into them then her, it shouldn't be a problem. Sorry if this doesn't really answer your question, but keep looking for a girl that doesn't care whether you play video games or not.

Thats not true. I have been dating some very attractive girls. One accepts that I play video games, the other loves to play them with me, even though she sucks. I've never met a girl who would dump me or refuse to date me because AI am an avid video gamer. If you have a good personality and/or looks, this won't matter to a girl.
Well i'm a girl gamer but that is because my guy got me into games... I use to hate them! but then i liked the idea of me being better than a guy. Try and play WITH the girl and teach her how to play... But dont make it an all day thing. Start slow

its because they would rather go shopping! than play games but you can be slick and shop for games when she goes to look at close she cant fit into.
