Whats all this bad mouthing about gamer girls?

Why do girls call me a fake gamer girl?So i love playing video games especially shooting ones it started out with sega playing sonic, and mortal combat.I then got the PS1 and was addicted to spyro,resident evil,silent hill,raymond and tombraider.Then the PS2 came out and i would play metal gear solid, crash, Star wars. Im new to PS3 pretty much well to the online world because i couldnt afford it and the games are a ****** arm and leg. i use my bros PS3 and play COD and Dead Space 2 but i created my own account.My trophies arent really much i got like 9 trophies(bronze)lol, but anyways when girls check out my profile they freak and call me fake im looking for attention im no gamer chick...and they just say means things, im not a great player but im not horrible either!!!



I was in a playgroup with guys and this girl joined i was cool with it, i tried making small talk and she wouldnt say anything and just talk to the guys.She started talking smack about me.i never said i was a gamer girl just a person who likes to shoot at stuff and yell at the screen when flustered.lol.

I noticed there is so many blogs talking so negative about these "fake gamer girls" why is it a problem?

I believe in gamer girls. I think ignorant (not calling myself a genius) guys calling gamer girls fakes are assholes, It isn't a problem it's a plus to have a female player somewhere in a gaming community, so thank you for being one of those epic chicks playing video games like the rest of the world's population should be.Whats all this bad mouthing about gamer girls?
I've never had that problem, i've had other women yell at me because my guy friends usually spoke to me(guess they were jealous?). But i've never had a problem with that stuff. But then again PS3 has a bad gaming community(trust me I have a PS3 and Xbox tends to have nicer people, but not always).
i agree! I hate guys who say i suck at videogames just because im a girl! When i play call of duty and im talking to my friends with a mic they tell me that bltches like me belong in the kitchen and not on my brothers xbox! Yes . I guess girls don't like other girls saying they're good at games or "gamer girls" but really suck and just do it for attention .. Which I don't get .? I'm a "gamer girl " and it's doesn't bother me that other girls say that for attention or whatever ... I know I'm good and honestly don't care

About anybody else ... Girls or boys ... Maybe a little annoying every time I'm in a MK chat room and someone keeps spamming "wanna fight a girl?" but I really don't care .. Idk how guys feel on the issue .. Well kinda because I get a lot of hate mail messages every time I beat someone .. But I think that's more of them just being mad

A lot of gamers sometimes think higher of themselves than others for a number of reasons, if you arnt as good as the game as they are, if the games you play are too main stream, if you only play casually or if you dont have all the achievments/ tropheys. Sometimes it can be worse for a girl becasue gamers arnt generally thought of as girls usually people think there guys. People sometimes refer to girls as fake gamer girls when they think someone is a poser or something along the lines of that.Overall its sort of just a stereotype. Anyone whos serious about gaming shouldn't have a problem with who is playing a game.
Also you should get Dead Island that game is fun and the multiplayer is a blast and like playing borderlands.

There's been a lot of girls recently calling themselves gamers when they really aren't (i guess they like the male gamers drooling over them) so its getting a little annoying. Theyre assholes though for just assuming that every girl isn't a dedicated gamer.



Mentioning you're a girl over and over will also get you some hate, just play the game.
I;m gamer girl myself although I prefer Rpgs. She just wanted to get your goat and was rude person but way to get over her ignore her. She doesn't know you so she really shouldn't say anything but you can't do anything about it except maybe report her. And one thing just so you know and i am not being rude if you are going to say Mortal Combat remember it's Mortal Kombat with a K not a C. Sorry just a big MK fan
