Would a girl game designer be taken seriously?

what about promotions and raises too? I like video games, they're fun, and it seems it would be cool to work for something like guild wars, but would I be taken seriously as a female in the work place?

I'm a bit nervous about applying for those things after college. I don't want to be harassed at work in a mostly dude environment. I'd want them to be fair to me and treat me with respect. I would treat my co-workers and boss with respect too.Would a girl game designer be taken seriously?
im a graphic designer and its dominated by men. And i never get harassed or treated differently. You have to just be confident in your work, and yourself.Would a girl game designer be taken seriously?
Just like with the guys, it would depend on how you handle yourself, and how good you were at your job.

Don't go into an all-male or even mostly male field and expect their culture to change though. Guys have different rules of behavior than girls. Not better, and maybe not worse, but not the same. Would a girl game designer be taken seriously?
Sure, so long as you have the expertise. Most employers should be willing to overlook superficial traits such as gender if you can demonstrate you have the necessary knowledge to do what they want.

Of course, you also have to be prepared to spend hours and hours every day around geeky computer nerds with no life or social skills. Most women would feel disgusted about the mere idea of this, but if you're one of the exceptions...

Whoops, I forgot. There are no exceptions.
